Aussies steel the show at the New Zealand Horse of The Year Show – Olympic Cup
It’s taken a while but a Grand Prix in our region to match European and US standards played out yesterday in Hawkes Bay, at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show. Thirty riders contested the Olympic Cup and it was the Australians who took out the top 3 places.
The Leopoldo Palacious course was set at maximum and tested all competitors in the richest Grand Prix in Australasia, with over $400,000 in prizemoney.
Peter McMahon and the super KS Genoa jumped the only double clean round with Wendy Shaeffer and Julia Hargraves taking equal second.
